(r) has within five years before the day of election,

nomination or appointment or since his election,

nomination or appointment been surcharged to an

amount exceeding five thousand dollars by the

auditors charged with the duty of auditing the

accounts of the Council; or

(g) is disqualified from being elected, nominated or

appointed or for being a member of the Council

under any enactment relating to corrupt or

illegal practices; or

is a salaried functionary of a foreign Government; or

(1) is a lunatic ao found under any law for the time

being in force in the Colony; or

(j) has not attained the age of thirty years.

Provided that

(1) no person shall for the purposes of this Ordinance

be deemed to hold office or situation of emolument

under the Crow by reason only of the fact that

such person is a member of the Hong Kong Naval

Volunteer Force or the Hong Kong Royal Naval

Volimteer Reserve or the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence

Corps or the Auxiliary or Affiliated Units thereaf

or the Hong Kong Police Reserve and as such member

is or may be entitled to receive any pay;

(ii) the disqualification attaching to a person by

reason of his having been adjudged bankrupt shall

coase,

(a) if the bankruptcy is annulled either on the

ground that he ought not to have been adjudged

bankrupt, or that his debts have been paid in

full, on the date of the annulment;

(b) if he is discharged with a certificate that tim

bankruptcy was caused by misfortune without any

misconduct on his part, on the date of his

discharge; or
